Quote & Estimate Builder is a Hirely agent planned for remodelers, painters, landscapers, plumbers and other home-service pros who write estimates at the kitchen table after a long day. You would hand it your walkthrough notes, a rough materials list and your usual line items, and it would assemble a structured estimate draft you can check and adjust.
Estimates tend to stall for boring reasons: the notes are scattered across a notebook and photos, the scope wording has to be rewritten every time, and exclusions get forgotten until a dispute. This agent would give each draft a consistent layout with scope, assumptions, exclusions and a clear list of items still needing your numbers.
It would not invent figures. Where a cost is missing it would leave a marked placeholder so nothing reaches a homeowner by accident. You would stay responsible for pricing, measurements and code requirements; the agent would handle wording and structure.
Drafts would be prepared for email delivery that you control. It would work by email and drafts only; it would not text or call anyone.
Consider an exterior paint walkthrough. You jot down siding type, trim condition, number of stories, areas needing scraping and a note that the owner wants darker shutters. Those fragments would go to the agent, which would arrange them into sections: surface preparation, primer and finish coats, trim and shutters, cleanup, and items the homeowner handles, like moving patio furniture.
Clear written scope protects both sides. The agent would reuse the phrasing you approve over time, so estimates look consistent across crews and seasons, and it would list open questions it could not resolve from your notes, such as whether permits are needed.
Over a season, a library of approved scope paragraphs would build up: tear-off language for roofs, prep language for painters, grading notes for landscapers. Reusing those blocks would make each new estimate faster to check.
No. You would supply every number; missing figures would stay flagged as placeholders.
