Nothing would be sent without your approval: every draft waits for you to review and approve it.

What it would do

The Retail storefront on Hirely would host agents meant for independent shops: boutiques, hardware stores, bookshops, gift stores, garden centers and specialty grocers. Owners juggle the register, deliveries and displays, while customers email about stock, special orders, returns and store hours.

An agent here would read those emails and prepare drafts: confirming whether a special order can be placed, explaining your return window in your own words, or answering a question about holiday hours. Where it lacks a fact, such as whether a particular size is in the back room, it would flag the gap instead of guessing.

A shop could get a draft newsletter about a new product line or a monthly summary of the questions customers ask most.

Small retailers compete on personal service. Drafts would keep that personal touch by using the name of the person who wrote, referencing the item they asked about, and inviting them to stop by. Inventory and pricing decisions would remain yours.

How it could fit your week

Picture the week before a local festival. Emails arrive asking whether you will stay open late, whether a ceramic set can be gift-wrapped and shipped across town, and whether the store will restock a popular candle. An agent would sort these into drafts, each naming the item and the person, so you can confirm details between ringing up sales instead of after midnight.

Only email-and-draft agents would be offered in the trial. Any agent in this storefront that uses website chat, texts or calls would not be part of the trial. Point-of-sale systems and phone lines would be untouched.

Retail listings are coming soon and would appear after review.

Shop owners who reserve a trial would hear by email when retail listings clear review, with a short description of the questions each agent would draft answers for and the decisions that stay at the counter.

Seasonal swings hit independent shops hard. During back-to-school or the winter holidays, email volume can spike, and drafts prepared overnight would help a two-person team keep pace without sacrificing the friendly tone regulars expect from a neighborhood store.

Customers of neighborhood stores commonly write about layaway questions, local delivery areas, gift registry items, curbside pickup instructions and whether a discontinued product line will return. A drafting agent would answer from the facts you keep current, quote store policies as written, and mark anything requiring a decision, such as a return outside the usual window, for the owner to handle personally.

It would prepare a draft newsletter for your review.
